What is henna?

Well first and foremost, we use all natural hand made henna paste! Henna powder is extracted from the fresh leaves of the plant “Lawsonia Inermis” Pure organic henna paste is made with pure all natural henna powder, sugar, water, and essential oils.

How does henna stain the skin?

When henna is applied, it is a wet paste that will dry and flake off. Once flaked off, your design will be a bright orange. Within 2-3 days, oxidation turns the henna design brown! Henna stains last around 1-2 weeks.

What is Jagua?

Jagua comes from the juice of the unripe Jagua fruit. Jugua consists of Jagua juice, organic xantham gum, sugar, and lavender essential oil. Once it is applied to the skin, jagua takes approximately 30 minutes to dry. It will dry flat on the skin and should be left there for at least 3-5 hours. Once the gel is rinsed gently with water, there will be a faint darkening of the skin underneath typically a light grey color. Your design will then darken over the next 8-10 hours due to the oxidation process, which will turn it a black-blue. Jagua tattoos lasts approximately 2 weeks and fades as the top layers of the skin naturally exfoliate.

Is there anything I should do before my appointment?

Any type of lotion, oil, tanner, or makeup can interfere with the stain. It is best to exfoliate the area and ensure it is clean and dry prior to your appointment. Hair is okay however, henna will stick to the hair once dried and may cause irritation when flaking the paste off. If you have any questions, please ask! avahenna.info@gmail.com
